My Books – The Wanderer

The Wanderer – say hello to Jason and Helle

I’ve just published the first book featuring Jason and Helle. This is a dark, edgy romance – and a rather steamy read. Helle has moments when she believes Jason is insane – but she has no doubt whatever that Jason is a far safer bet than dark and dangerous Sam Woolf. Definitely.

Obviously, I couldn’t quite resist adding a time slip ingredient…

As always, the fab cover is by Olly Bennett at  MoreVisual!

In the long lost ancient past, two men fought over the girl with the golden hair and eyes like the Bosporus under a summer sky. It ended badly. She died. They died.

Since then, they have all tumbled through time, reborn over and over again. Now they are all here, reborn in the same place, the same time. It is time to end that which began 3 000 years ago. Time to lay old ghosts to rest, time to finish what began in distant fogs of time.

This is the story of Jason and his Helle. He betrayed her badly in their first life and has lived through a sequence of lives in a desperate attempt to find her again and make amends. He remembers all his lives, she does not – but when she sees him, she knows him, which scares her silly. What also scares her is Sam Woolf, yet another visitor from her distant past – and where Jason wants to make amends, Sam wants revenge.

I’ve had the story of Jason and Helle in my head for well over a decade. I was in the British Museum, leaning over a display of ancient artefacts when I was struck with a flashing vision: a young man – more of a boy – and beside him a girl who held his hand so hard, so very, very hard. I shook my head. Yet another image, and the girl was clutched to his chest, her life seeping out of her body as bloody rivulets stained her garments, his garments. Very sad. A most non HEA ending to a distant life. I was morose for days, until it struck me that I could do something with this and at least give them a second chance in the here and now.

Which is how Helle and Jason stepped out of a dusty, very ancient past to the buzz of modern-day London. For a while there, I felt quite relieved. Until I caught sight of the dark shadow that followed in their wake. Shoot: the man who was their nemesis the first time round had decided to make an appearance.

Need I say I put Jason and Helle through a sequence of nail-biting adventures? No, I thought not…

But, as always, I give them some compensation – I give them each other, I give them passion hot enough to reduce their bed to cinders. I hope you enjoy reading about them as much as I loved writing these books!

I bet by now you’re sick and tired of listening to me, eager to get your hands on your own copy, right?
